About Us

Ensuring Young Carers are Recognised, Heard, and Supported

Supporting Young Carers and Young Adult Carers Aged 4 to 17 years old

Our Young Carer team is dedicated to raising awareness of Young Carers, their rights, and the crucial role they play. We are proactive in our approach to ensure that professionals and the wider Bedford community know who a young carer is, how to identify them and how to best support them.

We provide Young Carers support, guidance, respite, events, groups and access to resources to help Young Carers manage their responsibilities while also enjoying a life beyond their caring role.

Additionally, we offer support for Young Adult Carers aged 18 to 25 through Carers In Bedfordshire.

How We Can Help Young Carers

Our Aim

Our Young Carer team strives to ensure that Young Carers have the same opportunities as their peers, are not placed in inappropriate caring roles, and are able to reach their full potential. We work to uphold their rights and support them in achieving their aspirations—whether in education, within their community, at home, in their caring role, or when planning for the future.

We are a registered charity and funded by Bedford Borough Council. We supplement our service by raising essential funds through donations, grants and trusts.

Our Values

  • We put Carers at the centre of every decision we make
  • We are transparent
  • We work with integrity
  • We are open
  • We give voice to concerns and viewpoints
  • We are resilient

All our policies, including our Privacy Policy and Safeguarding Policy can be found here.
